HYDERABAD: Two sales executives of a well-known real estate firm here were arrested Wednesday for allegedly drugging, raping and beating their 26-year-old colleague for hours inside a car on the night of June 30. The colleagues left the woman outside a private hostel in Miyapur after the crime, police said. The accused, identified as Sanga Reddy (39) and Janardhan Reddy (25), were sent in judicial custody on Wednesday.
While a zero FIR was initially filed at Uppal police station based on a complaint by the survivor, the case was subsequently transferred to Miyapur police station as the crime occurred under the latter’s jurisdiction.
The accused have been booked under IPC sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 509 (insulting modesty of woman) and 420 (cheating), Miyapur SHO V Durga Rama Linga Prasad said. “The survivor has been sent for medical examination,” he added.
