South Sydney are aiming to win five-straight NRL games for the first time since early 2023 when they take on the Parramatta Eels to begin Round 18.

The Rabbitohs have been one of the competition’s in-form sides over the last month, reviving their previously dreadful season and putting them within touching distance of the finals.

In a big boost for Ben Hornby’s Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Murray are back on deck after starring for the NSW Blues in their comprehensive Game II victory.

They travel to CommBank Stadium to tackle the struggling Eels, who enter the round equal-last on the ladder.

Parramatta have won just twice since the beginning of April, with their most recent victory coming against the Sharks in Round 13.

In team news, an extensive Eels injury list has seen Trent Barrett name two debutants against the Rabbitohs, Jake Tago and Charlie Guymer.

Elsewhere, Shaun Lane has been named at lock, with Ryan Matterson taking a place in the back row, though a late change could see the pair switch.

For the Rabbitohs, Mitchell retains his No.1 jersey but club captain Murray has been shifted to an edge to accommodate the in-form Keaon Koloamatangi, who will line up at lock for the fifth consecutive match.
