Disgraced trainer Darren Weir has been handed a further two-year disqualification for the use of a jigger on three racehorses in 2018.
Weir was slapped with a two-year disqualification for each of the three applications on Tosen Basil, Red Cardinal and Yogi, but the penalties can be served concurrently.
The three-person panel of judge John Bowman, judge Kathryn Kings and tribunal member Dee Gleeson deemed it to be a “fair and appropriate penalty” for the animal cruelty charges.
Weir completed a four-year disqualification in February 2023 for the possession of three electric shock devices, or jiggers.
