Evenepoel wins time-trial as Pogacar stays in yellow – MASHAHER

Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel won the time-trial on stage seven of the Tour de France, but Tadej Pogacar remains in the leader’s overall yellow jersey.

Slovenian Pogacar, of UAE-Team Emirates, finished second on the stage, 12 seconds behind Evenepoel of Soudal-Quick Step.

Evenepoel, 24, is now 33 seconds behind Pogacar in the general classification.

Defending champion Jonas Vingegaard was fourth, and now trails by one minute 15 seconds in the GC after losing time on stage four.

Primoz Roglic of Slovenia finished the stage third and is now 1:36 down in the GC for his Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team.

Simon Yates of Jayco-Alula was the top-placed Briton in the time-trial, finishing 1:33 behind Evenepoel.
