CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu BSP president Armstrong (47) was hacked to death by a six-member gang near his house in a crowded locality at Sembiam near Chennai‘s Perambur on Friday. Following the murder, the entire area was brought under a security blanket to prevent revenge attacks or riots.
The crime took place around 7pm. Armstrong, an advocate by profession, was chatting with his friends and supporters when the gang arrived on three bikes.The assailants, wielding machetes and sickles, chased away Armstrong’s friends before attacking him. He was taken to hospital where he was declared dead.
