Kill, the highly anticipated gore thriller touted as India’s most violent film ever, has hit theatres amidst critical acclaim and a plea from its stars, Lakshya, Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, to avoid spoilers. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, the film marks Lakshya’s debut as the lead, featuring Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala in pivotal roles. Fresh off its July 5th release, Kill has become a hot topic.
Kill stars Lakshya, Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala urge viewers to not leak the spoilers: “Let it be a surprise element”
In a video posted by Dharma Productions, the film’s lead cast – Lakshya, Raghav, and Tanya – urged fans to experience the movie firsthand but to refrain from spoiling the plot twists for others. Dharma Productions echoed this sentiment on their official Instagram page, “Board the #Kill Express, but leave spoilers at the station!” emphasizing a viewer discretion warning for the film’s intense violence.
Kill premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year, receiving positive reviews from the audience and even securing the first runner-up spot in the People’s Choice Award: Midnight Madness category
Kill revolves around a love story between Amrit (Lakshya) and Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) who face an arranged marriage challenge. Determined to win back Tulika, Amrit embarks on a daring mission with his friend Viresh (Raghav Juyal), leading them down a path of high-octane action.
As per Deadline, action movie director Chad Stahelski of 87Eleven Entertainment lauded the film as “one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies I’ve seen recently.” He commended director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s “relentless action sequences” and expressed excitement about bringing the story to a wider audience through an English remake. The remake was officially announced on July 1.
87Eleven Entertainment, renowned for blockbuster action films like John Wick, will collaborate with Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment on this project. The producers expressed their enthusiasm in a joint statement: “We are thrilled that 87Eleven Entertainment will produce a remake of our film in English.” They view this collaboration as “a big win for Indian cinema” and a testament to the film’s potential for international success.
