Sharks forward Siosifa Talakai faces a nervous wait after being put on report for a reckless tackle attempt on Titans hooker Sam Verrills during Friday evening’s NRL game in Coffs Harbour.
The Sharks were trailing by six points in the 11th minute at C.ex Coffs International Stadium when Talakai was sent to the sin bin for an apparent shoulder charge on Verrills.
“He hasn’t wrapped his arms there … wasn’t even an attempt,” Tigers legend Steve Roach said on Fox Sports commentary.

Verrills remained on the field and continued to play despite the head contact, with the Titans extending their lead to 12 points while Talakai was in the bin.
“I’m not sure whether he rocked him so hard that the head came up,” Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon told reporters during the post-match press conference.
“It’s hard to really analyse it, I’d have to take another look at it.
“He played on. If it hit him on the chin that hard, I would have thought it was a really issue.”

The Titans ultimately clinched a 20-16 victory over the Sharks, winning consecutive matches for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, the Sharks remain third on the NRL ladder despite suffering five defeats in their past six games.
