It was a stable day for Kalki [Hindi] as Friday collections came to Rs. 9.75 crores. This is a good number for the film because normally, there is around 70% drop from the day of release to the second Friday but here, the gap is just a little over 50% when compared to opening day [Rs. 22.50 crores].

What’s all the more interesting is that this is also the best second Friday for any film release in 2024. Prior to Kalki [Hindi], the record was held by Fighter [Rs. 5.50 crores] followed by Shaitaan [Rs. 5.12 crores]. However, Kalki [Hindi] has done much better than that which goes on to show that now just will its lifetime soon emerge as the best ever, but it will also take a very big lead by Rs. 250 crores+ total there for the taking.

That said, one expected the film to be even stronger on Friday. Kill is the only new Hindi release of the week and that has its niche target audience. For the wider audiences, Kalki [Hindi] is a set film and hence footfalls could have been even stronger. In fact, at the very least one expected Thursday numbers to be matched with a double-digit score. Nonetheless, there is a weekend ahead of it and the growth today should be quite good, something that should help it stay on track for entering the Rs. 200 Crore Club soon, what with Rs. 173 crores already in its kitty.
