Matty Matheson may play a handyman with no culinary skill in “The Bear,” but behind the scenes, the Toronto-based celebrity chef and restauranteur knows good food (and how to make it) better than anybody. And now, Matheson, who has served as a culinary consultant and producer on the show since its first season, has a new cookbook featuring his most innovative takes on the three most basic meals: soups, salads and sandwiches.

In his signature no-nonsense fashion, Matheson’s newest cookbook is titled just that (“Soups, Salads and Sandwiches”) inspired by cooking’s “iconic trio,” as he calls it. It’s now available to pre-order on Amazon, where it’s already a No. 1 new release. It ships out Oct. 22.

Matty Matheson: Soups, Salads, Sandwiches: A Cookbook

In addition to 126 original recipes, the 368-page book is packed with personal stories and candid photographs of Matheson’s life with his family. Recipes include soups such as the Giant Meatball Soup in Beefy Tomato Broth and the Crab Congee; salads such as the Caldo de Pollo and Griddled Salami Panzanella Salad; and sandwiches like the Cubano and Italian Combo.

“Soups, Salads and Sandwiches” is Matheson’s third cookbook, following 2018’s “Matty Matheson: A Cookbook” and 2018’s “Home Style Cookery,” which tops Amazon’s bestseller list once again as people binge Season 3 of “The Bear.” If Matheson’s recipes aren’t your style, though, there are dozens of other pop-culture cookbooks you can check out here.

Clearly, Matheson hasn’t sacrificed his one true love (cooking) as his involvement in “The Bear” grows, and with it, his celebrity status. His role behind the scenes of the Emmy-winning kitchen dramedy expanded from co-producer in Season 1 to executive producer for the next two seasons, while his character Neil Fak gets the most screen time yet in Season 3.

Pre-order Matty Matheson’s new cookbook “Soups, Salads and Sandwiches” on Amazon, currently on sale for $24.50.
