LIMESTONE TWP., MONTOUR COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police released details into a four-vehicle crash that killed two people.
On June 28 around 2:30 p.m., a four-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 54 and County Line Road in Montour County.
Police say a dump truck fully loaded with stone material was “traveling at an unsafe speed and made an evasive turn to the left” to avoid hitting a car.

The dump truck entered the opposite lane and hit a tractor-trailer head-on causing a fourth car to be impacted, PSP reported.
Both the dump truck and tractor-trailer caught fire and became fully engulfed with flames and smoke. The fuel from the two vehicles caused one of the cars involved in the crash to catch fire.
The drivers of the dump truck and tractor-trailer were pronounced dead on the scene while the driver of the car on fire was safely extracted but sustained significant injuries, state police stated.
The victims involved have yet to be identified.
