“There was a scene where Rishi Kapoor and I had to jump into the pool,” Kapoor explained. “I hadn’t learned how to swim and hadn’t mentioned it to anyone. Thinking it was part of the scene, everyone assumed it was going well.” However, the situation quickly turned serious. “I jumped in and started grabbing Rishi ji unknowingly as I was drowning,” she revealed.
When Aditya Chopra Rescued Sonam Khan
Thankfully, someone on set recognized the danger. “I was literally grabbing Rishi ji below with me. The best part is, people thought it was a shot going on and then Aditya Chopra jumped into the pool and he rescued me. I would have been dead… Or I would have harmed Rishi ji unknowingly that day, it was crazy. The entire unit was there but it was Aditya Chopra realised that I was actually drowning. He jumped with his clothes and shoes on.”
Sonam Khan had a brief but successful career in the late 80s and early 90s. She ultimately left the industry to focus on her family. Last year in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sonam explained, “My son was diagnosed with autism at a young age, and my life became dedicated to him. I didn’t hesitate to leave everything behind to find him the best treatments and education.”
