The advance booking for the Akshay Kumar led Sarfira opened late on Tuesday evening and booking so far has not been encouraging. As per the latest set of data received by us, Sarfira has sold less than 1,000 tickets across the Top 3 national multiplex chains – PVR, Inox and Cinepolis – for the opening day alone.
The film has sold these many tickets in 16 hours, however this doesn’t signal a healthy start for the Akshay Kumar starrer. The pace of advance booking is less than half of Kartik Aaryan’s recently released, Chandu Champion, which opened around the Rs. 5 crore mark, and this in itself speaks volume about the sort of start Sarfira is looking at given these trends.
Today will be crucial for Sarfira, as it needs to pick up some momentum and put healthy numbers on board to have a respectable Day 1 number. The plus is the presence of Akshay Kumar and the trailer that paints a promising picture on the content front. But even for the word of mouth to spread, the film needs to have an audience on the opening day.
