Ever since Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia’s relationship became public, the couple has been the centre of attention. The two actors, who starred together in Lust Stories 2, have been frequently spotted together, fuelling speculation and interest. In a recent conversation with Mashable India, Vijay Varma opened about the unexpected attention their relationship has received.

Talking about the public reaction, Vijay said, “Shock laga ki itna logon ko interest hai is mein but I got used to it now. Pehle aisa laga ki meri film release se badi news hai, so that was a big revealing of how people see things.” He added that his relationship with Tamannaah is “strong and lovely,” and they both “enjoy” the public attention. Reflecting on how they met, Vijay shared, “Ek hi time par hum log cross hue ek doosre se. So mujhe bahot interesting lagta hai hum dono ka.”
Professional endeavours
On the work front, Vijay Varma is currently seen in Mirzapur season 3, a highly popular series featuring Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal. The show, set in the fictional city of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, premiered on July 5 on Prime Video.
Vijay expressed his satisfaction with his recent projects, stating, “Fortunately, I’ve had a massive playground to experiment with various projects that I was part of and which I will continue to be a part of. This is coming out now (Mirzapur), and then there’s another one (Matka King), coming this year-end.” He added, “I’ve been in the process of creation and the only time that I get a few hours off, I’d like to spend it with my friends, family, and my girlfriend and that’s about it.”
Upcoming projects
Besides Mirzapur and Matka King, Vijay Varma will also be seen in Suriya 23 alongside Tamil star Suriya. Matka King, directed by Nagraj Manjule, known for films such as Fandry and Sairat, is a fictional tale set in 1960s Mumbai. The story follows an enterprising cotton trader who starts a new gambling game called ‘Matka,’ seeking legitimacy and respect. The Tamil language movie Suriya 23 is a period gangster drama directed by Sudha Kongara. Both Matka King and Suriya 23 will be available for streaming on Prime Video.
