Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has showered praise on Akshay Kumar’s performance in the upcoming film Sarfira. The special screening of Sarfira held in Mumbai a couple of days before its release saw the attendance of Akshay Kumar, Suriya (whose Tamil film Soorarai Pottru inspired the Hindi remake), Jyotika, and Radhika Madan, among others.

A Gem of a Film
Taking to Instagram Stories, Rai expressed his admiration for the film, calling it a “GEM.” He particularly commended director Sudha Kongara’s work, writing, “Last night I saw a GEM called #sarfira by @sudha_kongara! Loved it.”
Relentless Inspiration
Rai went on to highlight Akshay Kumar’s dedication and passion for storytelling. He stated, “And yesterday I understood the real meaning of ‘Relentless’ from my fav @akshaykumar! How to be relentlessly honest, relentlessly gutsy, relentlessly focused and to have relentless hunger for the great stories in your belly: So much to learn from you SIR.”
Radhika Madan’s Stellar Performance
Rai also acknowledged the performance of Radhika Madan, who plays the female lead in “Sarfira.” He wrote, “And @radhikkamadan what a SARFIRI you are! You nailed it.”
A Story of Grit and Determination
Scheduled for release on July 12, Sarfira is directed by Sudha Kongara and stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal, and Seema Biswas. Suriya, who played the lead role in the original Tamil film, will make a special guest appearance in Sarfira. The film promises to be a captivating story set against the backdrop of India’s startup scene and aviation industry.
Suriya has also expressed his appreciation for Akshay Kumar’s involvement in bringing the story of Captain G. R. Gopinath, the inspiration behind Sarfira, to a wider audience. Sharing the film’s trailer on Instagram, Suriya wrote, “This is our respect to @capt_gr_gopinath sir, who inspired millions of Indians and thank you @akshaykumar sir for taking @sudha_kongara’s story across our country and beyond! Proudly presenting the trailer of #sarfira.”
