Isha Talwar, currently seen in the much-awaited third season of Mirzapur, recently shared a fascinating anecdote from her early acting days. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Talwar revealed a surprising connection to Satish Kaushik’s Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai starring Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor.

A Childhood Role in a Bollywood Production
While discussing her acting journey, Talwar disclosed a hidden gem from her filmography. “I was part of Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai,” she admitted. Talwar played Aishwarya Rai’s younger sister in the movie, the one with the memorable line, “Arey didi badi Handa City mai aai thi.”
Landing the Role Through Family Ties
Talwar’s entry into the film wasn’t through a traditional audition process. Her father served as the executive producer on Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, and the filmmakers were searching for a young actress for a specific role. Satish Kaushik, the film’s director, knew Talwar through her father and suggested casting her for the small part, which consisted of only 2-3 scenes.
Ishah Talwar Recalls Anil Kapoor Asking For 45 Takes
Despite the brevity of her role, a specific memory from the sets left a lasting impression on young Talwar. She vividly remembers witnessing Anil Kapoor’s dedication to his craft. “I remember Anil Kapoor would ask for 45 takes,” Talwar shared. She described being in awe of Kapoor’s commitment, particularly while filming an intense scene requiring him to scream. While Talwar, at the time, couldn’t fully grasp the nuances of his technique, the experience stuck with her.
Talwar contrasted Kapoor’s dedication with her own experiences, highlighting that the most retake she’s ever done for a project was a mere 66 takes for a technical noodle commercial. In her acting career, she estimates the maximum number of takes she’s required has never exceeded 10-12.
