President Joe Biden faces first press conference since debate – MASHAHER

President Joe Biden will take questions Thursday at his first press conference since his debate against former President Donald Trump last month.

The press conference comes as the president a growing segment of the Democratic Party are calling on him to drop out of the presidential race after concerts raised at the debate. Earlier Thursday, Rep. Hillary Scholten, D-Grand Rapids, called on Biden to step down as the party’s nominee, saying “It’s time to pass the torch.” She is the first member of Michigan’s delegation to do so. Meanwhile, U.S. Energy Secretary and former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm said he should stay in the presidential race during a stop at a General Motors plant in Lansing.

The press conference, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., takes place on the last day of a NATO summit hosted by Biden in Washington. Watch the event in the video player or at this link.
