An El Paso man is all smiles in his jail booking photo after being arrested on a murder charge in connection with a fatal shooting in a Northeast neighborhood this week.
Tristan Alexander Colgrove, 24, of Northeast El Paso, was arrested by police homicide detectives in connection with a shooting that killed a 26-year-old man on Monday in the Logan Heights neighborhood, officials said on Wednesday, July 10.

The name of the man who was killed has not been disclosed pending the notification of family. Police described him as a Northeast resident.
The man was found dead from a gunshot wound at 6:15 a.m. on Monday on a sidewalk near an alley in the 5300 block of Byron Street near Fred Wilson Avenue, police said.
A possible motive in the fatal shooting has not been disclosed as an investigation continues by detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit.

On Tuesday, Colgrove was booked on a murder charge into the El Paso County Jail in Downtown, where he remains detained on a $1 million bond, according to jail records, which list no previous arrests.
Colgrove, who has long dark hair, a beard and an earring stud in one ear, is smiling broadly in his booking photo.
Murder cases are down 50% from last year with 10 cases this year compared with 20 at this time in 2023, El Paso Police Department officials noted.
