Akshay Kumar is all set to bring forth the emotional tale of G.R. Gopinath, who was the pioneer in terms of affordable low-cost airlines in India. While the film was originally made in 2020 in Tamil, featuring Suriya as the leading man, the actor turned producer for the Hindi version which has been titled Sarfira. As the film releases on Friday, July 12, Suriya decided to take to social media to share a special note explaining the importance the movie holds for him.

Suriya expresses gratitude towards Akshay Kumar for choosing Sarfira as his 150th film
On the day of Sarfira release, Suriya took to his Instagram page to share photos with the leading man Akshay Kumar, the director Sudha Kongara, Founder of Simply Deccan G.R. Gopinath – who is the inspiration behind the film. Along with that, he also penned a note saying, “Sarfira will always be an important film for all of us! @akshaykumar Sir Thank you for choosing Sarfira as your 150th film & you’ve made Veer come alive so beautifully @sudha_kongara you’ve lived this dream for so many years happy our film is in theatres now #radikamadan is superb as Rani. @pareshrawalofficial is just brilliant.”
