MUMBAI: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Friday met Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray at the latter’s Bandra residence. Banerjee said “khela” had started and it will go on. She said she would come to Maharashtra for the state assembly elections and campaign for Uddhav, reports Chaitanya Marpakwar.
Banerjee slammed PM Modi-led Centre over declaring June 25 as ‘Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas’, saying there is more of an Emergency in the country under Modi. She said criminal laws in the country were changed, BNS was introduced without consulting anybody and 147 MPs were suspended.
Criticising BJP for “taking away” Shiv Sena name and symbol, she said despite that, Uddhav fought like a tiger.
This was her first meeting with Thackeray after LS polls. Uddhav said they have “family relations of a brother and sister”. “There was nothing political about the meeting,” he said.
She also met NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, MLA Rohit Pawar and Sharad Pawar‘s grand-nephew Yugendra Pawar on Friday at his Silver Oak residence.
