This wasn’t just any saree; it was a 160-year-old heirloom piece from Malhotra’s coveted archival weave collection. Hailing from Gujarat, the saree was crafted from pure silk, its elegance enhanced by a real zari border. This intricate border boasted an impressive composition of 99% pure silver and approximately 6 grams of real gold, adding a touch of royalty to the garment.
The nine-yard saree flowed gracefully around Alia, its rich texture and timeless design a testament to the enduring beauty of Indian craftsmanship. To give the traditional drape a contemporary twist, Alia opted for a strapless bustier blouse. This modern touch perfectly complemented the saree’s classic silhouette, proving that tradition and innovation can go hand-in-hand to create a truly unique and stunning look.
Alia adorned herself with a statement gold and emerald choker necklace, adding a pop of colour and a touch of regal charm. Delicate jhumkis, a sparkling maang tikka, and elegant kadhas completed the ensemble, tying the entire look together beautifully.
