Deepika Padukone’s ethnic ensemble, a luxurious Sindoori Meera Sharara Set from Torani, captured the essence of elegance and tradition. The set boasted a vibrant red Raw Silk base, boasting intricate hand embroidery, dori work, and hand adda embellishments. A touch of whimsy came with the use of a butterfly net, adding a layer of sheer beauty to the outfit. The set comprised a comfortable, loose-fitting kurta, a flowing sharara, and a dupatta, creating a cohesive and graceful look.
The loose silhouette ensured effortless movement, perfect for the celebratory occasion. Deepika further accentuated her baby bump by elegantly draping the dupatta around it. To complement the vibrant red, she adorned herself with gold sandals, creating a harmonious aesthetic.
Styled by Shaleena Nathani, Deepika didn’t shy away from amplifying her ethnic look with extravagant gold jewellery. The statement pieces included intricately designed gold and ruby-studded earrings, along with layered gold bangles and a striking cocktail ring.
The highlight of her accessories, however, was an iconic necklace. This statement piece was not just breathtakingly beautiful but also steeped in history. It was a bazuband, traditionally worn on the arm, belonging to the family of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the emperor of the Sikh Empire. The necklace featured white sapphires and a large spinel, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of the Sikh era. Interestingly, the central spinel bore a resemblance to the famed Timur Ruby, another jewel from Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s collection, once housed in the Lahore treasury.
Staying true to her signature style, Deepika opted for a soft and glamorous makeup look. Kohl-rimmed eyes, a bindi, and a touch of soft pink lipstick completed her radiant ensemble. Her hairstyling was equally elegant, with a neatly tied bun adorned with gajra.
