Transfer Centre, Luke Keary Catalans Dragons, Elliott Whitehead, Raiders sign Matty Nicholson, Kieran Foran extends with Titans, Josh Aloiai signs new contract with Sea Eagles, signings, contracts, full squad lists – MASHAHER

It’s official! The Catalans Dragons have announced the signing of Roosters star Luke Keary on a two-year deal, which will see the triple premiership winning playmaker end his career in the south of France.

As revealed by foxsports.com.au in mid-June, Keary backflipped twice and signed with Catalans after initially deciding to sign an extension with the Roosters for 2025, before changing his mind and announcing his retirement and then having another change of heart to ink a two-year deal with the Super League team.

The Catalans announcement means the curtain will likely fall on Keary’s decorated NRL career at the end of the 2024 season.

With the Roosters in the thick of the premiership race this season, there’s every chance Keary finishes up with a fourth NRL premiership after winning one with Souths in 2014 and back-to-back titles with the Roosters in 2018 and 2019.

Keary has a connection to Catalans coach Steve McNamara, who was a former assistant coach at the Roosters.

“Luke will be a sensational addition to our team next season,” McNamara said via a club-issued statement.

“ He is an outstanding player, leader and person. We are very happy he has chose to come to dragons in 2025.”

Keary isn’t the only NRL star that has signed with Catalans for next season.

Raiders duo Nick Cotric and Elliott Whitehead will also link up with the Dragons.

RAIDERS SNAP UP YOUNG UK GUN AS FAVOURITE SON’S EXIT CONFIRMED

The Canberra Raiders have officially announced the signing of another UK import in 20-year-old Matty Nicholson on a three-year deal from 2025.

Nicholson is a promising forward who is currently playing under Sam Burgess at the Warrington Wolves in the UK Super League.

The England international’s arrival in Canberra will coincide with Raiders captain Elliott Whitehead’s departure to from the Green Machine to join the Catalans Dragons.

Also an England international, Whitehead joined the Raiders in 2016 and has played 198 games for the Green Machine. Earlier this week, the club confirmed Whitehead’s departure at the end of this season.

“First of all, I want to thank Ricky and club for the opportunity to come to the NRL back in 2016 and chase my dream,” Whitehead said via a club-issued statement.

“I’ve been able to have a wonderful career with the Raiders and to finish my time with the club as Captain is something I’m very proud of.”

In a staement announcing Nicholson’s signing, Raiders CEO Don Furner referenced the success the club has had with English stars in recent years, with players such as George Williams, Josh Hodgson, and John Bateman among others to come over from the UK to link up with Canberra and forge decent NRL careers.

“The Raiders have had some wonderful success in having young English players come to Canberra and establish themselves as NRL stars,” Furner said.

“We’re looking forward to Matty joining us in 2025 and we wish him all the best for the remainder of the season with Warrington.”

TITANS VETERAN FEELING GOOD AHEAD OF 17TH SEASON

Kieran Foran has officially extended his time on the Gold Coast for another year revealing his body is “feeling good” ahead of his 17th NRL campaign.

The 33-year-old has become an integral figure in the Titans’ spine since joining the club ahead of the 2023 season.

Multiple injuries have kept him off the field at different stages, but the former premiership winner explained he was happy to confirm he’s going around again in 2025.

“We’ve got a great young group here at the Titans,” Foran said in a club statement.

“2025 will be the second year under Des’ (Hasler) coaching and I’m really keen to be involved in what we are building.

“Having been around the game for a long time, I know that we’ve got something good growing here on the coast and I’m keen to play on into next season.

“My body is feeling good, and I feel like I’ve played some good football this season so far and while that’s the case, I’m keen to push on for another year.”

Foran will also be vital for the development of newly signed Titan Carter Gordon who is making a code switch after previously representing the Wallabies.

The NRL veteran will vital in transitioning Gordon from a world class fly-half into a superstar rugby league playmaker next season.

DE BELIN TO STAY AT DRAGONS

The Dragons have offered forward Jack de Belin a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of 2025.

The 33-year-old has played 220 games for the Dragons since his NRL debut in 2011, also representing the NSW Blues and Papua New Guinea on three occasions each.

“Jack has impressed the coaching staff with his form this year and we are pleased to be able to retain him for another season,” Dragons coach Shane Flanagan said in a statement.

KNIGHTS RE-SIGN UTILITY

The Knights have announced playmaker Tyson Gamble has re-signed with the club for a further two seasons, extending his stay in the Hunter until the end of 2026.

Gamble played an integral role in the Knights’ charge to the finals last year, but has been sidelined since Round 10 due to a broken foot.

“Tyson has been a major contributor since his arrival at the Knights,” Knights director of football Peter Parr said in a club statement.

“His energy and enthusiasm are contagious for everyone around him, he plays with a toughness that has earned the respect of his teammates and this community.

“This selfless attitude Tyson brings to our club has meant extending his contract was an easy decision, we are delighted he will remain a Newcastle Knight.”
