KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man is in custody after shooting a gun inside St. Luke’s Hospital and assaulting a staff member Friday night, the Kansas City Police Department said.
According to KCPD, officers were dispatched to the hospital at 4401 Wornall Road at about 9:10 p.m. after a man assaulted a member of the staff.

Police said that as security attempted to arrest the man, he fired off a shot with a handgun.
The shooter was then placed in handcuffs until police arrived on the scene.
According to KCPD, there were no injuries as a result of the shot being fired.
