Two days afters surviving an assassination attempt, Donald Trump officially became the GOP nominee at the Republican National Convention on Monday morning.
The four-day convention kicked off on July 15 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where 2,400 delegates from across the country nominated the former president for the 2024 election. Of course the vote, which took place by roll call during the convention, is a formality given that Trump was already given the necessary 1,215 delegates needed to cinch the nomination in March.
So far, the biggest news of the RNC is that Trump picked J.D Vance, a former U.S Marine and author of the 2016 memoir “Hillbilly Elegy,” as his Vice President Running Mate. After announcing the news from stage at the RNC, Trump shared the news on his social media platform Truth Social.
For those not in Milwaukee to attend the RNC in person, there are plenty of ways to tune into the news-packed event live online. The RNC will broadcast across several cable channels such as Fox News, CBS, ABC, CNN, NBC, MSNBC and CSPAN. However, the best way to tune into the RNC without cable is through a variety of Live TV streamers such as DirecTV, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV.
“Based on yesterday’s terrible events, I was going to delay my trip to Wisconsin, and The Republican National Convention, by two days, but have just decided that I cannot allow a ‘shooter,’ or potential assassin, to force change to scheduling, or anything else,” he wrote on Truth Social on Sunday. “Therefore, I will be leaving for Milwaukee, as scheduled, at 3:30 P.M. TODAY. Thank you! DJT.”
Stream the RNC live online on DirecTV.
