Being one of the most iconic shows on Indian Television, Kumkum, starring Juhi Parmar and Hussain Kuwajerwala, marked its 22nd anniversary on July 15. With the two actors playing the role of Kumkum and Sumit, they became household names holding the show on the top slot of the TRP list in the afternoon batch for Star Plus for years. On this special occasion, the two actors did a special collab for the show’s fans and shared the same on the social media platform.

Celebrating 22 years of Kumkum, Juhi Parmar had a few days ago put up the title track which has gone viral. And now on Monday, an extremely special treat came along for the fans of the show, as Juhi and Hussain came together as Kumkum and Sumit bringing to the screen once again their magical camaraderie in a sensuous rain dance on the beautiful rendition to Aamir Khan and Rani Mukerji’s ‘Aankhon Se Tune’ from their hit 1998 film Ghulam.
They also penned a long caption saying, “Little did we know 22 years ago that this day would become so iconic and that we would continue celebrating it for years to come. It’s overwhelming how you all have loved kumkum Sumit as a jodi and still do. It’s your love that brings us together every year and we are so grateful to all of you for being a part of this journey and keeping us in your memories. This is our token of love to all the Kumkum Sumit lovers who still want to see us together donning those characters. Presenting Kumkum and Sumit once again, 22 years later, sharing our pyara Sa Bandhan with all of you”.
Fans react
Fans are loving the reel and have been commenting about how they would love to see this Jodi back on screen. “Some jodis are perfectly made for each other and even 22 years later this Jodi has a same charm and energy which can attract even GeN Z today,” a fan wrote. While many went on to say that they continue to be their “favourite couple” despite the show ending over a decade ago. Yet another fan added, “No one can match this chemistry”.
