Over two decades since his Bollywood debut in the 2000 film Dhai Akshar Prem Ke alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, Mickey Dhamejani is once again making headlines. Photos of him with Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra from the sets of Krrish have recently resurfaced online, rekindling public interest in the former child actor. He is now a doctor – an eye specialist to be specific.

Reflecting on his resurgence in the spotlight, Dhamejani shared with Hindustan Times, “It feels nice to be in the limelight yet again. The intention, however, was never to go viral; things happened organically.”
This renewed attention has sparked discussions of a potential return to the silver screen. Dhamejani revealed, “Yes, I am open to opportunities in Bollywood and Hollywood. In fact, I am in talks for a Bollywood project. However, my family and I will decide together (if and what to take up).”
Dhamejani’s journey in Bollywood began at a young age, where he quickly gained recognition for his performances. Among his most cherished memories are those with Hrithik Roshan on the sets of Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish, where he portrayed a young version of Roshan’s character. “I remember a drive from Chandigarh to Manali. I was sitting in the same car with Hrithik. During those days, my results were announced, and he had gifted me and my sister Bounty chocolates. He even invited me to his house and coached me, teaching me his hand movements and body language,” Dhamejani reminisced. He added that Roshan’s dedication to his craft had always been a source of inspiration for him.
Starting his acting career at the tender age of five, Dhamejani featured in 300 commercials and over 10 films, including notable projects like Ishq Vishk and Julia Roberts’ Eat Pray Love. Despite his early success in the entertainment industry, Dhamejani decided to step away from acting at the age of 17 to pursue a different path. He earned an MBBS degree and went on to specialize in ophthalmology, obtaining an MS. Today, he is a respected LASIK and cataract specialist.
Reflecting on his decision to leave acting, Dhamejani explained, “Acting was a significant part of my childhood, but I always had a passion for medicine. I wanted to contribute to society in a different way, and becoming a doctor allowed me to do that.” His transition from the glamorous world of Bollywood to the noble profession of medicine highlights his versatility and dedication to personal growth.
Despite his successful medical career, Dhamejani’s love for acting never truly faded. His recent resurgence in popularity has reignited his passion for the performing arts, and he is now considering new opportunities in the industry. “I’ve always had a passion for acting. It’s a form of expression that allows me to connect with people on a deep level. If the right opportunity comes along, I would love to explore it,” he shared.
