While fans of this social media diva and yesteryear star Zeenat Aman cannot wait to catch her on the big screen, the actress continues to share anecdotes, trivia, and some precious moments from her past on her favourite platform – Instagram. As Aman continues to feed audiences with many of her interesting memories and bold opinions, this time around, she shared a video of an old interview she had given to BBC about breaking stereotypes and the glamour image which was attached to her during her filmy career.

Zeenat Aman reveals the interview was right after she became a mother
In the interview, as the actress boldly confronts questions about her ‘glamour’ image and how she has presented a platter of varied roles in her 17-year long career, she also spoke about the need for her to break from the labels given to her. She also captioned the post with a lengthy note wherein she introduced her social media followers to the interview and said, “There’s nothing quite like a video from the late 80s to make me feel like a fossil!” She went on, “BBC Asian Network invited me for a lengthy interview at such a turning point in my life. I was just bowing out of the public eye, having become the mother of one, but not yet two sons. And was fully in “family mode”.
She further shared, “It’s far more surreal to see myself frozen in time in such interviews, than it is to see my old filmography. I felt then that I had experienced so very much of life already, and that it would be smooth sailing here on out. Boy! Was I wrong. It makes me laugh that the Zeenat I imagined to be so mature then, now seems to me such a naive and lovely young thing. So just remember that when times are tough, better things await. And when times are wonderful, enjoy them to the fullest because a hiccup is surely around the corner.” She also added, “Anyway, ignore my “You Tarzan, Me Jane” outfit, and enjoy this clip of my reflections on my career and that unshakeable “glamour-puss” tag! It’s quite rare because it’s from a period of time where I made very few public appearances.”
In conclusion, as she asserted that she cannot claim credit for the video and asked her fans to see the interview on YouTube, she ended the note saying, “I was going to post a picture of my new haircut, but this felt more fun! And as always, your thoughts and comments are cherished.”
About her comeback
Reports suggest that the yesteryear actress is planning to make a comeback and we hear it will be with a film titled Bun Tikki. While the show is expected to star Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol, further details are awaited.
