Three victims identified after fiery I-81 crash in Cumberland County – MASHAHER


CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The Cumberland County Coroner has identified the three people killed in Sunday’s vehicle crash and fire on I-81 Southbound in Silver Spring Township.

According to a PennDOT spokesperson, I-81 South was closed from Exit 57 (Route 114) to Exit 52 (Route 11) in Cumberland County due to the multi-vehicle crash and fire.

The coroner’s office says a tractor-trailer driving northbound on I-81 crossed over the median and struck two southbound vehicles.

According to the coroner’s office John Sheltman, 79, and Eileen Beck, 80, of Selinsgrove, were in a Subaru Outback, and Lieu Nguyen, 49, of Harrisburg, was the driver of the other vehicle, a Toyota minivan. All three victims were pronounced deceased at the scene due to multiple traumatic injuries.
