An officer-involved shooting sometime around 6:30 p.m. Sunday closed southbound lanes of Interstate 75 just north of the Marion County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol public affairs officer.
No information was immediately available Monday about the shooting. It was not known if anyone was injured or which law enforcement agencies were involved.
The lane closure was at mile marker 374, which is near Alachua County Road 234 just north of the Marion County line. The specific location of the incident has not yet been released.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
