VinFast opens first outlets in Philippines – MASHAHER

VinFast Auto announced it had opened its first three dealerships in the Philippines as Vietnam’s electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer continued its push into neighbouring markets in south east Asia.

The automaker said the three outlets, Aseana, EDSA and Alabang, were in prime locations in the Metro Manila region and have begun selling the VF5, VF7, and VF9 battery powered SUVs imported from Vietnam.

VinFast Philippines CEO Ms Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc said in a statement: “The grand opening of [our] first three dealerships in the Philippines marks a significant milestone in our journey to conquer the potential EV market here. With an expanding dealer network, [we are] committed to bringing Filipino consumers high quality products and dedicated service.”

VinFast said it planned to expand its dealer network to include major centres and cities in the Philippines in the second half of 2024 with the aim of increasing brand awareness and meet growing demand for electric mobility in the country.

The company began selling vehicles in Indonesia earlier this year and this week it broke ground on a new vehicle assembly plant there, scheduled to be completed in late 2025.

In March VinFast signed agreements with 15 dealers in Thailand with the aim of opening 22 outlets in the greater Bangkok area by the end of the year. The company is expected to establish a presence in Malaysia by the end of the year.

VinFast also began building an assembly plant in India earlier this year, to tap the significant growth potential of this market.

The company had previously said it plans to be in 50 countries worldwide in the next few years.
