The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when a 70-year-old farmer, Fakeerappa, was turned away from GT Mall on Magadi Main Road in Bengaluru. The farmer, dressed in a traditional dhoti and white shirt, was simply trying to watch a movie with his son. Despite his humble intent, mall security denied him entry based on his attire.

The incident has also sparked criticism from local farmer unions and politicians. Farmer unions threatened protests and demanded a formal apology from the mall management. Following their warning, a group of farmers, along with a pro-Kannada organization, staged a protest in front of the mall.
