The All-Tex Irrigation Splash Pad at San Angelo’s Unidad Park opened recently and closed the next day for maintenance.

Here’s what we know.

The All-Tex Irrigation Splash Pad opened on Saturday, July 13 at 3245 Vista Del Arroyo Drive.

“The splash pad was originally supposed to be open on Sunday as well but will now be closed due to some technical issues with the sensors,” according to a Facebook post on July 13 from the city of San Angelo.

The latest information available Wednesday afternoon is that the free, community splash pad is expected to reopen this weekend.

A date and time is not specified yet, according to Brian Groves, city of San Angelo communications director.

That will be posted on the city’s website at cosatx.us/News and shared on the city’s social media accounts.

“The response has been extremely positive,” Groves said. “People are excited about having a splash pad in San Angelo and about the future splash pad that will be located at Kirby Park.”

He said fundraising efforts continue for that project.

“The temporary closure was related to landscape work and also the monitoring of electronics and sensors,” Groves said. “Adjustments are needed to ensure that the system runs properly.”The public is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting for the splash pad at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25.

There is not a lifeguard on duty; participants must play at their own risk.

All participants must wear proper swim attire. Children who are not potty-trained must wear a swim diaper.
