Rajesh Tailang, who will next be seen in Ulajh alongside Janhvi Kapoor, has revealed that he got ‘a glimpse’ of her late mother Sridevi in her. Rajesh lauded Janhvi in an interview with Mid-Day, calling her a “natural, supportive, and grounded performer.”

Rajesh said, “All my co-stars in Ulajh are so sincere, and did such a good job. I don’t think I was as good an actor at their age. Roshan (Mathew) and Gulshan (Devaiah) are thoughtful actors. They do a scene not just for the sake of it; they put a lot of thought and hard work behind it.”
Speaking about Janhvi Kapoor, Rajesh said, “She is hard-working and a natural. She is a supportive and grounded actor, which helps you as a co-star. We were all fans of her mother. You can see a glimpse of Sridevi ji in her.”
Janhvi is the oldest daughter of Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor. She has a younger sister named Khushi Kapoor. Sridevi passed away in Dubai in 2018.
Fans will see Janhvi in Ulajh as Suhana Bhatia, a young diplomat caught up in a labyrinth of intrigue and conspiracy. The film, directed by Sudhanshu Saria, promises a compelling story set in the midst of high-stakes international diplomacy.
The recently released trailer of the film showed Janhvi’s character, Suhana, as the youngest Deputy High Commissioner, traveling a treacherous path with every action scrutinized. Her portrayal defies cliches, confronting nepotism head on as she navigates the complications of her career-defining mission at the London embassy.
Colleagues doubt her character’s competency, dismissing her abilities as simply nepotism, adding levels of suspense to the plot. Gulshan Devaiah joins the cast as a mysterious undercover spy, heightening the tension in the story. The trailer depicts a maze of secrets and betrayals, implying an internal leak that endangers the lives of undercover operatives and forces Janhvi’s character into a desperate struggle for survival.
Speaking about her role, Janhvi told news agency ANI, “Portraying a diplomat for the first time has been both humbling and fascinating. Suhana’s strength and vulnerabilities resonated with me, and I’m eager for audiences to experience her journey.”
Adil Hussain, Meiyang Chang, Rajendra Gupta, and Jitendra Joshi co-star in the film. Ulajh, a film written by Sudhanshu Saria and Parveez Shaikh with dialogue by Atika Chauhan, will be released on August 2.
