US Senators Marsha Blackburn and John Barrasso were seen confronting Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle at the RNC Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, footage posted by Blackburn on Wednesday, July 17, showed.
The Tennessee Senator can be heard shouting at Cheatle, “you owe the American people answers. You owe President Trump answers,” referring to the attempted assassination of former President Trump.
In a longer version of the confrontation, later posted by Blackburn, Barrasso can be heard asking Cheatle for an explanation of why Trump was allowed to speak in Pennsylvania, demanding her resignation if she fails to answer.
“Why would anyone allow the President to go on stage when you know you have a potential threat and you’ve got snipers that were trained on him?” Blackburn asks the director.
In response Cheatle tells the Senators, “I don’t think this is the format to have this discussion…I am happy to answer your questions, we will do it in the appropriate format.”
