SOUTH KINGSTOWN − The Department of Environmental Management’s Division of Law Enforcement is at East Matunuck State Beach investigating reports of a missing swimmer, the DEM said Thursday afternoon.
As of about 1:30, the DEM had not confirmed that a swimmer was missing, the DEM said.
The National Weather Service issued a rip current statement for Rhode Island’s ocean beaches, saying, “Dangerous rip currents are expected.”
