Cal Fire and the California Highway Patrol responded to a crash involving half a dozen vehicles on Highway 101 in northern San Luis Obispo County.
According to the CHP’s Traffic Incident Information page, at around 5:20 p.m., the agency received reports of a possible six-vehicle crash ust south of Highway 46 West in Paso Robles on the southbound side of the highway, causing traffic delays.
The crash was located next to the Target shopping center.
Traffic was backed up in both directions, as far as Atascadero in the northbound lanes and downtown Paso Robles in the southbound lanes.
Ambulances were dispatched as a precaution by 5:21 p.m., and at least two vehicles likely required a tow truck, according to the CHP page.
At around 5:33 pm., one vehicle involved in the crash was fully involved in flames, while another was on fire, according to emergency services app Pulsepoint.
No major injuries were reported at the scene of the crash, and the fire was largely contained by around 5:45 p.m., according to Pulsepoint.
