‘Black does NOT equal Democrat!’ – MASHAHER

Joe Biden’s 2020 assertion that “you ain’t black” if you’re unsure between him and Donald Trump has been ripped apart in a fiery GB News interview.

Speaking to Ray Addison at the Republican National Convention, Stephen Smith from Turning Point hit out at the US president.

“I can’t think of a more denigrating message”, he fumed.

“It’s absolutely disrespectful. I think he knows what he is saying. He has a history of racial remarks of that sort, he said he doesn’t want his children growing up in a ‘racial jungle’.

“All these types of denigrating messages that he comes out just goes to show his mindset has not changed.

“He is trying to change his vote and say he is a man for the black man. No you have not, you have been denigrating and disrespectful to the black community.”

Smith criticised the Democrats, saying the party is guilty of assuming black voters should be backing the party in their droves.

“They say black equals Democrat”, he said.

“It’s really sad. I’m supposed to be a free-thinker with my own thought processes and my own mind.

“I am supposed to think with my mind, not my skin colour. Black does not equal Democrat, I am not going to ensconce myself into this ideological slavery.”

Black voters in America have traditionally sided with the Democrats, but Donald Trump is ramping up efforts to target the base.

In 2016, Trump received eight per cent of the black vote according to the exit polls, the highest level of support by the base for any Republican since George Bush in 2000.

By 2020, support for Trump among black voters had surged to 12 per cent in an election he ultimately lost.

The numbers could spell trouble for the Democrats as we head towards November’s presidential election, with Biden gasping for votes in swing states.

Joe Biden is facing questions himself over his ability to govern, with a poor debate showing against his Republican counterpart last month only adding fuel to the fire.

The 81-year-old is already America’s oldest-ever sitting president, leading many voters to stew over whether he can remain in the post for another four years.
