‘I know what a near death experience is like!’ – MASHAHER

Nigel Farage appeared emotional as he furiously defended his decision to fly out to the US, in support of ally and friend Donald Trump.

The GB News presenter hit back at critics as he anchored his show from the Republican convention in Milwaukee, where the former US President will speak for the first time since being shot at.

The 45th US leader survived an assassination attempt on Saturday after 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at him during his campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

After receiving backlash for his decision to fly out to the convention in support of Trump, Farage shut down the critics who claim the newly elected MP “isn’t spending enough time in Clacton”.

Delivering his verdict on the shooting, Farage told his GB News viewers: “How do we describe what happened on Saturday other than, frankly, a miracle?

“I don’t know whether you believe in miracles or guardian angels, but something truly remarkable happened. He turned his head at the last minute. The bullet went through the air. It was a complete and utter miracle.”

Responding to the criticism of his decision to leave the UK for America, Farage fumed: “Now many are saying, well, Nigel, why aren’t you in Clacton? Why aren’t you in the House of Commons?

“Well, you know what, when a friend of yours goes through a near-death experience, I think the least you can do is to come and show some respect and pay them a visit.”

Nigel was slightly overcome with emotion as he recalled his own near-death experience after surviving a plane crash.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Nigel explained: “I know what a near-death experience is like, because 15 years ago, I was in a light aircraft crashing to the ground.

“I thought my last seconds had come and I was smashed to pieces – I had a split sternum, broken my ribs, I was in a bad way.”

He added: “For a fortnight afterwards I was very emotional. I couldn’t quite work out why I was still alive. It was a very odd thing to go through.”

Relating to the former President, Nigel admitted: “To be honest, what we saw yesterday here, Donald Trump listening to his son, his granddaughter, it’s going to be very, very interesting to see what we get tonight on the stage.

“He says he’s rewritten the speech himself. He’s a changed man. He’s also indicated he wants to try to bring America together. So we’ll see what happens.”

Speaking to the President of Citizens United, Nigel asked David Bossie what will happen with the Secret Service and Donald Trump following the shooting.

Bossie revealed: “We’re going to get to the investigation of how that happened, we’re going to get to the investigation of the Secret Service and the director of the Secret Service and their coordination with the Biden White House.

“We’ll get to that, but we’ll get to that after we win in November.”
