Renee Sen, daughter of the actress Sushmita Sen, recently marked her foray into the entertainment industry with the comedy film Bad Newz. Sen opted to gain experience through an internship as an assistant director (AD) on the project. Bad Newz hit theatres on July 19th, and to celebrate its release and express her gratitude, Renee took to Instagram to share her experience.

One picture captures her alongside the film’s director, Anand Tiwari, while another proudly displays her name listed among the intern ADs under the direction department in the closing credits. Additional behind-the-scenes stills showcase Renee actively learning the ropes of being an assistant director.
Renee expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the entire Bad Newz team in a heartfelt caption. “Working on Bad Newz has been nothing short of gratifying,” she wrote. “It felt like attending film school, or maybe even better! The incredible crew taught me so much, and I’ve made lifelong friends in the process. I’m incredibly grateful to our director Anand Tiwari for this opportunity. Thank you for believing in me, and I truly look forward to the possibility of you directing me someday.”
Her gratitude extended further as she thanked Dimple Mathias and Bindra Amritpal for providing her with such a fantastic start. She also acknowledged the entire direction team for their invaluable guidance and the memories they created together. “You’re all an essential part of my journey,” she wrote. A special shout-out went to Reshma Shetty for her role in making the internship a reality. The post concludes with a celebratory “We did it team!!! Cheers to the best Bad Newz.”
Bad Newz boasts a star-studded cast featuring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, Neha Dhupia, and Ammy Virk. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film’s script was penned by Ishita Moitra and Tarun Dudeja. Beyond the impressive cast, the film’s offbeat storyline has piqued audience interest. The plot revolves around the rare phenomenon of heteropaternal superfecundation, where Triptii’s character, Saloni Bagga, becomes pregnant with twins fathered by two different men, played by Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk.
The production team behind Bad Newz is producers Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Anand Tiwari himself.
