Savannah experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday, leading to streets flooding and abandoned vehicles throughout the city.
Between 7 a.m. yesterday and 7 a.m. today, Coffee Bluff experienced 3.51 inches of rain ― the highest rain total of any area in Savannah during that time period, according to an email sent from Jonathan Lamb, meteorologist for the National Weather Service (NWS) Charleston Office.
In total, more than 20 Savannah streets were flooded, said Lamb. The rainfall resulted in multiple flooded vehicles at those locations. Police and fire departments put out barricades at some locations, said Lamb.
