As soon as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made it mandatory for eatery and stall owners on Kanwar routes across UP to put ‘nameplates’, voices of protest were heard at many places.
Some NDA allies also objected to the move.
In an emergency meeting called by RSS-backed Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) on Saturday, it was decided that the Muslim community would welcome the Kanwariyas with open hearts.
The meeting also held it was time to give a befitting reply to the Opposition’s agenda, frustrated with their consistent defeats in elections.
The meeting saw nationwide participation via an online platform, gathering representatives from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal, North East, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.
The MRM emphasised the importance of resisting opposition efforts aiming to disrupt national harmony due to political frustrations.
MRM workers were encouraged to maintain social unity and firmly counter any attempts to disturb the nation’s peace.
Prominent speakers at the meeting included activists, officers, educationists, doctors, and social workers, all committed to adhering to the guidelines of Yogi Adityanath.
They stressed the importance of transparency and social harmony, with shops and carts selling fruits, flowers, and refreshments clearly displaying their names.
The Muslim Rashtriya Manch assured that Muslim vendors would respect Hindu faith purity requirements, reinforcing the country’s Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb and ensuring cultural respect continues.
The forum criticised Opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav for allegedly attempting to misrepresent Yogi Adityanath’s directives. The Muslim community pledged to uphold their Hindu brothers’ faith with dignity.
National Women’s Board members, including Dr Shalini Ali and Reshma Hussain, highlighted that love for the country is paramount in Islam.
Drawing parallels with Hindu communities’ support during Muharram and Ramadan, they affirmed that Muslim vendors would offer the same respect and care for the Kanwariyas.
Manch reasserted the Muslim community’s commitment to organising annual camps and langars for Lord Shiva devotees, demonstrating India’s enduring unity and mutual respect, regardless of opposition efforts.
