NEW DELHI: Congress MP and leader of oppostion in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Monday targeted the Centre over NEET-UG paper leak issue, stating that the there is a “very serious problem” in the country’s education system.
“The issue is that there are millions of students in the country who are extremely concerned about what is going on and who are convinced that the Indian examination system is a fraud,” Rahul Gandhi said in Lok Sabha.
Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan hit back at the Congress leader and said that the National Testing Agency (NTA) was established in 2010 during the UPA government’s tenure.
“A lie will not become truth just by shouting. The fact that the Leader of Opposition says that the country’s examination system is rubbish, is highly condemnable,” said the education minister.
The Union minister also said that the government has “nothing to hide” and that the government has furnished all the facts to the SC.
“Due to different views the SC has twice said this centralised examination patter has to be there, regarding some anamolies the government has nothing to hide, we have put all the facts in front of the SC, the court is hearing the case right now,” Pradhan said.
