Bad Newz box office collection day 4 detailed report, Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri film shows massive drop on Monday – MASHAHER

After doing a decent business in its first weekend, ‘Bad Newz’ dropped massively on its first Monday at the box office. The romantic comedy collected around Rs 3.5 crore on Day 4, taking the total collection to Rs 33.2 crore, reported the trade website Sacnilk.

The Monday business is crucial for any film because it helps to gauge its performance in the long run at the box office. The Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri-starrer witnessed around 68 per cent drop from its Sunday collection on Monday. Business is expected to slow down after the weekend, but in this case, it seems like a big drop.

  • Friday: Rs 8.3 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 10.25 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 11.15 crore
  • Monday: Rs 3.5 crore
  • Total: Rs 33.2 crore

Things will get difficult for ‘Bad Newz’ from this Friday once ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ releases this weekend. Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, it’s one of the most anticipated Hollywood releases of the year and has shown a good trend in the advance bookings. The Anand Tiwari-directorial will have to face some serious competition with the Marvel film.

‘Bad Newz’ is already dealing with the handover buzz from ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Even though the Prabhas-starrer has started to record a drop in its collection, especially on its fourth Monday at the box office, it continues to attract audiences to theatres. The release of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is expected to hit the smooth run of the Nag Ashiwn-directorial as well, but ‘Bad Newz’ is likely to be more impacted considering its maximum business is coming from the metro cities and multiplexes where the Hollywood biggie will find its place.
