The NRL will reportedly attempt to lure NFL legend Tom Brady into the broadcasting booth for next season’s season opener in Las Vegas.

The reported bombshell comes amid a huge broadcasting win for the NRL, with the clash between the Canberra Raiders and New Zealand Warriors to be shown on America’s main FOX channel.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the Raiders-Warriors clash will reportedly be broadcast into 125 million US homes. It’ll be the first rugby league match to be shown on a free-to-air channel in the USA.

The second match between Penrith and Cronulla will be shown on Fox Sports 1.

“The visionary support we have had from FOX in the US and Australia for this venture has been truly remarkable,” Australian Rugby League Commission chairman Peter V’landys said.

“Together we share the bold ambition for what is possible for rugby league in the US and across the world.

“Las Vegas in 2025 will give rugby league never-before-seen mass exposure in the US market, allowing us to showcase Super League, NRL and international athletes and win new fans.”

Last season, the two Vegas games were both shown on Fox Sports 1, a pay television station with requires a subscription.

In addition, the first 15 minutes of the Sea Eagles-Rabbitohs match wasn’t shown because a college basketball game before it went into overtime.

The Daily Telegraph also reports that the NRL will aim to discuss with Brady and top executives at FOX about the future Hall-of-Famer potentially joining the Fox League broadcast.

Brady called time on his glittering 22-year playing career last year before signing a massive ten-year contract with FOX to be their leading color commentator, beginning in the 2024-2025 season which kicks off in early September.

Tickets for the Las Vegas double header go on sale on Friday morning at 9am.

The NRL will be hoping to pull a larger crowd than the 40,746 who attended this season’s double header.

In addition to the Raiders-Warriors and Panthers-Sharks matchups, the UK Super League and women’s rugby league will also be showcased, with a Wigan-Warrington clash and an Australian Jillaroos-England Lionesses game added to the docket.
