Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar had an unexpected encounter with a TikToker that has taken the internet by storm. UK-based Zane Thadani stumbled upon the director on a London street and couldn’t resist capturing the moment on video.

The viral clip begins with Thadani excitedly exclaiming, “Oh my God, oh my God, guys I just met Karan Johar man! What do I call him? KJo? Karan? Karan Johar? Mr Johar? Mr Karan?” As he approaches the filmmaker, who is surrounded by friends and children, he opts for a bold, if unconventional, greeting: “Hi, uncle!”
Karan’s surprised reaction is palpable as he responds, “Uncle? Did you just call me uncle?” before turning and walking away. The brief but comical exchange has since garnered significant attention online, with the video racking up thousands of views and shares.
Thadani, who boasts a following of 15.5K on TikTok and 5K on Instagram, even counts star kids Suhana Khan and Navya Nanda among his followers. The video has sparked a flurry of comments, with many users amused by the unexpected turn of events.
Interestingly, Karan Johar himself seemed to have found the encounter amusing, as he re-shared the video on his Instagram Stories, writing, “Was happy meeting you Zane.”
The incident comes as Karan Johar’s latest production, Bad Newz. Directed by Anand Tiwari and starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, Ammy Virk, and Neha Dhupia, the film also features cameos by Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma.
