CT man, 65, airlifted to hospital following motorcycle crash – MASHAHER

A Terryville man was airlifted to the hospital after being seriously injured during a motorcycle crash in Litchfield on Sunday.

Troopers just before 1 p.m. responded to Route 118 near the West Chestnut Hill Road intersection on the report of a motorcycle versus car involving injuries, according to Connecticut State Police.

State police said a preliminary investigation showed that a 65-year-old man on a 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a 2009 Toyota Rav4 being driven by a 32-year-old Litchfield man. The Kawasaki was heading west on Route 118 when the driver of the Rav 4 made a left turn onto Route 118, leading to a collision, according to state police.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and seriously injured. He was initially taken in an ambulance to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital before being flown aboard LifeStar to Hartford Hospital.

No injuries were reported to the three occupants of the Rav4, including an 8-month-old child.

The crash remains under investigation.

Anyone with information has been asked to Trooper Matthew Brew at 860-626-7900.
