A 5-year-old Gainesville girl earlier this month was crowned 2024 National American Miss Florida Princess.
Elle Nguyen, daughter of Michelle and Dennis Nguyen, was crowned July 11 during the state pageant at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. Elle also was honored as the Heart of Service winner, the most recommendations winner and as runner-up in the art contest.
She also received over $1,000 in scholarships to go toward Nationals, which will take place in Orlando over Thanksgiving week.
Elle’s philanthropic work includes cleaning the beach, making art for the elderly and volunteering at animal shelters.
In her spare time, Elle enjoys competitive dance, learning languages, playing checkers and chess, riding her bike and playing outside.
National American Miss brands itself as a “pageant unlike any other!” according to its website. “Our goal is to Grow Confidence and teach Real World Skills.”
Pageants are held in each state for girls ages 4 to 24 in six different age divisions. Girls ages 12 and under are not allowed to wear makeup.
