Manu Bhaker has a golden chance of etching her name in the history of Indian sports. No female athlete from India has won more than one medal in a single edition of the Olympics. Back in the 1900 Paris Games, Norman Pritchard won silver in athletics. The 22-year-old Manu won the bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol event on Saturday and will get another shot at a medal in the mixed team event where she will partner Sarabjot Singh.

Prithviraj Tondaiman will also be in action in the qualification round of the men’s trap event in shooting. Rajeshwari Kumari and Shreyasi Singh will pair up for the qualifiers of the women’s trap event. Balraj Panwar will take part in the quarterfinals of the Men’s singles sculls in rowing. The Indian hockey team will face Ireland in their next group game after being held to a 1-1 draw by Argentina.
In boxing, Amit Panghal, Preeti Pawar and Jaismine Lamboria will be in action in the men’s 51kg and women’s 57kg category events. In badminton, the pairs of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty and Tanisha Crasto & Ashwini Ponappa will participate. Ankita Bhakat, Bhajan Kaur and Dhiraj Bommadevara will be in action in archery.
