Michaela Blyde and Stacey Waaka each had 2 tries and 10 points for the Black Ferns. Alev Kelter and Kristi Kirshe each had a try and 5 points for the U.S. in the loss.
New Zealand will face the winner of Canada-Australia in the gold medal match at 1:45 p.m. ET on Tuesday. The U.S., who reached the Olympic semifinals for the first time, will go for bronze also on Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET
