The swimming program at the 2024 Paris Olympics is in full swing and stars from Team USA and across the globe are getting set for a huge day in the pool in the second session of the day on Wednesday in Paris. Five events will have medal finals today, and Katie Ledecky headlines the big names in the pool for the U.S. with her signature event, the 1500m freestyle. She’s been the world record holder in the event since 2013, and has steadily improved on it over the past 11 years, with the current record being 15:20.48.
Also contending for medals for Team USA will be Torri Huske and Gretchen Walsh in the women’s 100m freestyle. Huske and Walsh had a 1-2 finish for gold and silver in the women’s 100m butterfly. On the men’s side, Chris Guiliano and Jack Alexy are in the 100m freestyle final and Josh Matheny is in the 200m breaststroke final.
